Fish woke up, feeling unusually cold. That was odd. Suddenly, a thunder roared through the sky and the sun was overshadowed by something large. Fish froze at the sudden loud sound, but what worried him even more was the intensifying sound of wind. He rose up from the bed in Dayin’s comfortable lair on the top of the Stormdrop family tower, and as he walked up to the window in the lair, his jaw dropped. He heard Dayin groan behind him, likely also woken up by the cold, but ignored him completely.

A tempest was quickly approaching the Stormdrop headquarters. Not just any sandstorm or a mild hurricane, it was a Thundersnow, a rare phenomenon of snow and lightning, not heard often of even in the Southern Icefield, the ice kingdom itself.

Fish was too shocked to ask himself questions like ‘Isn’t it the middle of the summer? Aren’t we in a desert? How will he convince workers to buy cheap disgusting ice cream now?’ and his uncharacteristic quietness made Dayin suspicious. As the Ridgeback laid his sight on the first snowflakes sticking to the large window of the lair, he smiled slightly, as if he was not surprised at all. “I guess winter’s coming a little early this year, huh?” He grinned.
