I look a little different, which I know is cus mom found me in an abandoned nest, but surely the ones I'm blood related to aren't that bad right? I made a friend today. He's the only one who's willing to train with me when the others don't. But maybe it's cus we're the same, different from everyone else in the clan. He was left behind by his tribe when they migrated worlds the last time, but the others don't treat him the way they treat me. They still like him, don't give him stinkeyes for beating them in sparring.

Mom says I'm built for battle, so she wouldn't allow me to join the medicinal training the other recruits went for. They were allowed to test what they'd learnt on me afterwards though. She had me lie down and they poured their concoctions all over me. It was gross and sticky, and I don't think they even worked! Mom looked upset once they were done, and the stuff just slid straight off me :/

It had to be at least thrice my size, and the others are all smaller than me. It was alone though, so maybe we've got strength in numbers? I think it saw me, but it didn't try to attack.

We're allowed to go out patrolling on our own now, in groups of 3 or 4. No one wants to patrol with me though, so I've been going out alone. The trainers know, but they either don't care or think I'm strong enough to manage myself. The first time I went alone one of them trailed me, but otherwise nothing. It's so boring, but if it's for the clan then I know it's worthwhile work.

I met another creature like me today while I was on patrol! He was quite nice. His scales are more orange though, and his fire's a lot hotter than mine, he's constantly surrounded by his flames. He said he's never seen a dragon with my armor, I think he meant the bones Mom set around me when I was a hatchling. She said they're magic, so they grow with my body, which he said was weird. But he wasn't mean about it, not like the others in the clan are. I hope I see him again.
