Commander of the Day Watch

Among the Flights it is fairly common for dragons to leave their home clan at some point before they're fully grown. Some, by choice or by chance, are Exalted to more directly influence their Flight's Dominance, others leave out of a desire to create a place for themselves, while in other clans young dragons are encouraged to go see the world, so that if they do return and choose to stay their loyalty will be assured. Rasa saw her two older sisters leave the Demesne for good, but the young Obelisk never wanted to go, even when given the option. Her parents, who had been hoping that at least one of their hatchlings would become their heir, were relieved that their youngest was so willing to stay.

Presently, Rasa serves as Commander of the clan's Day Watch. She patrols her parents' territory, familiarizing herself with the land she may someday rule, and learning how to lead in the process. The Watch was her creation, tracing its roots to the Demesne's early days when Rasa on her own initiative decided to go out and keep watch over the lair by night. In time, the scope and duration of her patrols increased, and she was joined in them by Persephone. As the clan grew and more dragons joined it, the two dragons expanded their night-time monitoring into two separate and organized Watches, with Rasa recruiting and commanding the Day Watch, and Persephone remaining in charge of the Night Watch.

Rasa also drills the many dragons currently under her command- along with her captains Kurth, Hallowed, Genarog, and Fafnir- in combat weekly. Furthermore, Rasa has recently begun stepping up to lead the Demesne when her parents are away, although Khione, the clan seneschal, who still takes up the mantle of substitute leadership most frequently. Unlike her mother, Rasa's first loyalty is not to the greater Earth Flight- although she does consider it an important allegiance in her life- but to the clan itself and the dragons she will someday guide. Rasa is generally polite and mild-mannered, but places a great deal of importance on her duties and responsibilities and will not hesitate to swiftly deal with anything she perceives to be a threat to her clanmates. A staunch Sunbeam Soldier, an elemental being much larger than she is, assists her with her tasks.
