The boughs of the willow tree sway gently in the wind, the shifting of many leaves producing a calming rustle. Above the tree, clouds drift by lazily, turning light shades of gold as the sun drifts closer to the horizon. At the base of the tree, a dragon lays against the sturdy trunk. Their eyes are kind, reflecting the glow of the sun. "Here to rest?" They ask gently. No other words need to be spoken, they understand. They shift to allow for a better resting spot against their side. Their short fur is so very soft, the warmth radiating from their being resembling a comforting blanket. They are solid in a way that promises gentle protection. They are here. They won't leave. Time passes by, gentle sunset turns to peaceful night. The moons glow softly and the stars light the sky, forming interesting patterns and carrying quiet knowledge. Stray dandelion seeds drift by in the breeze, carried off to some wild place. |

Dawn arrives eventually, a beautiful display resembling the sunset. They are still here. From the branch overhead a dark orb-like bird calls out to the sky, welcoming- or perhaps challenging- the new day.
