Khepri

As the Bleakfalls Clan's gathering party turned over the earth, carefully excavating trinkets to bring back to their home, a cheerful Guardian cloaked in a Black Robe turned over the soil and uncovered a dark, mysterious chest. This strange chest thrummed with an unknown energy. Its discoverer, Candy, called over to another gatherer:

"Alikara, have you seen anything quite like this before?"

A dark guardian dragoness padded carefully through the tangled overgrowth to join the cloaked figure. She looked down upon the chest, puzzled. Thinking it nothing more than some long departed hoard's trinkets, she used a talon to break the lock and flip the chest open. Both guardians peered within at what appeared to be a fair-sized smooth, dark stone. The cloaked dragoness suggested it was an egg, but Alikara was not so sure. She reached into the box and removed the object carefully. She picked at some of the crevices on the surface with her claw before clasping it tightly between her two paws.

CH-KRRRRRK

The dragoness' shuddered in surprise at the sound of a break appearing in the object. Alikara placed the item down and the two took watch as it rattled and rumbled. It's clear that this was indeed an egg. Outer pieces of thick shell broke away from the pitch black form that lay inside. It was a peculiar little thing, an amorphous blob with no distinguishing features. Alikara leaned in close to inspect the small body and a head rose from the mass. She peered to try to find out where the front of this figure was, when suddenly two bright orbs appeared on the face of the hatchling. Bright, pure white eyes looked upon Alikara, staring deep into her Arcane eyes. She was left stunned, frozen in place, entranced in the gaze of this mysterious hatchling. The other dragoness observed that the hatchlings white eyes began to shift from a pure white, to a soft pink, then finally matched the hue of Alikara's eyes.

The hatchling is Arcane? Or-- or is it? What on earth is this thing?

It finally broke its gaze with Alikara, leaving her standing still, stunned and puzzled by what just happened. It then rose on all four legs and fanned out its wings. The solid black figure then scanned its immediate surroundings with its newfound Arcane eyesight before setting its eyes upon Candy, the cloaked dragoness. It rushed headlong towards her like an ebony bullet, clinging tightly to her body making an assortment of clicks and churrs.

Its black body began to fade to color, revealing a very bright color combination not unlike Candy's coloration. The hatchling also begun to take on more feminine qualities before letting go of the dragoness' leg and stepping down to the floor. She looked rather pleased with herself, this little hatchling. But as she looked over the adult dragoness' form her eyes grew large, fascinated with how her wings and body glimmered in the moonlight, and how her belly scales stood in stark contrast of her body. The hatchling sat very still, studying the dragoness, and slowly her belly turned pale, and her body and wings began to look almost like gemstones.

Finally, the hatchling shuddered tremendously before growing to a full sized dragon right before the gathering party's eyes.

Alikara gasped in disbelief "A mimic?"

The hatchling-turned dragon turned to face Alikara, puzzled. She walked right up to Alikara, pressing her face firmly into the guardian's, and drew in a deep breath....

and cheerfully shouted, in a tone not unlike Alikara's

"A MIMIC!"
