Coulant was rescued from the AH by Freshpeachez; he was being sold at fodder price. When he came to the clan, he did not think he would be staying very long. Coulant fell into a depression; he could not bring himself to lift his head from the ground where he lay.

Eventually he realized that the clan meant to welcome him with a permanent home, and Coulant's depression lifted. As a sign of loyalty to his adopted flight, Coulant wears an Electrician's Emblem. Although he is extremely shy, Coulant begged the clan leadership to provide him with a kitchen where he creates his passion to share with his adopted family.

Coulant loves candy; he now spends his days making confections for his family. What he doesn't end up eating, he sells or trades with clans throughout the Shifting Expanse. His good friend Jucella has been trying to convince him to sell his sweet treats to lairs throughout all of Sorneith, but Coulant is hesitant to travel far from his home.

The hatchlings all love to visit Coulant's kitchen and beg for scraps of his famous candies. Coulant enlists many of the recently aged hatchlings to deliver orders and sell his candies to other clans in exchange for some free sweets. Many of the young dragons in the lair got their first job working as a delivery or sales representative for Coulant, Jucella included. Coulant is a nervous little Fae, and his friendship with the large Imperial, Jucella, is the only thing that gives him confidence.
