Under the light of the full moon, pearlcatchers dance and sing. Their pearls held up to the sky, they praise the moon and all of her glory. These are not just ordinary pearlcatchers, of course. These are Bakunawas.

Worshipers of the moon, these dragons carry with them more than just ordinary pearls but spheres blessed by the one they worship. Every pearl they carry was once a piece of the moon, folklore claims. The story goes as such:

The moon was lonely. She looked down upon Sornieth each night and longed to interract with the dragons that inhabited the planet. One night, she made the ultimate sacrifice and shed pieces of her shell, leaving her full of holes. The Bakunawa, originally a group of pearlcatchers that had lost or damaged their original pearls, found the moon's pearls in the oceans and started to treasure these orbs as their own. Passing them down through generations, the Bakunawa loved the moon for her generous gifts and vowed to always be in her debt. To this day, the dragons worship and love her just as much as their ancestors did all those years ago.
