· biography ·
Once upon a time, there was lightning. Or rather, a small Sandsurge who thought he was lightning. Not in the metaphorical sense, in the literal sense. As in he legitimately believed he was lightning and so he zoomed around everywhere, screaming that he was the hero everyone was looking for and "not to worry, I am on the case!" Unfortunately for the little dragon, he was not lightning, and when he attempted (very bravely) to smite Legion's guard Namid, the dragon was quite confused as to why a tiny hatchling was running at him screaming at the top of his lungs. Namid was ordered by Cassius to be rid of the crying creature, and so Namid took Stormur out into the desert to be rid of him. Yet he didn't kill the little Sandsurge, instead whispering into his ear to scream loudly and then flee into the east until he came across a pirate ship. Stormur was convinced he would be able to fight the Skydancer, but when he looked at Namid, he saw the dragon's eyes filled with grief. A gentle nudge with a scarred nose was all it took for Stormur to understand that he was being given mercy. So he fled - doing exactly as he was told and fleeing into the east to the Water territory, where he met a ship with plenty of pirates. The leader of the ship was named Zhoron, and he gladly swept the little being into his arms and asked who he was. When Stormur replied, "I am lightning and I zap you!" the pirate couldn't hold in his laughter until a gentle flick from a nearby Imperial's tail sent him straight into a quick recovery and a, "Oh of course you are. Well, my lightning friend, where do you want to go?" It took Stormur several minutes to reply, for he didn't know where he wanted to go. He looked at Zhoron and Haemir and tilted his head and said, "I want to make a difference... Against those big bad guys that everyone hates. I tried to smite one of them and he took me away and made me run here. I think I scared him!" The two dragons shared a look before looking down at the little ball of energy and nodding, "Well, he sent you to the right place. We'll take you where you can make a difference. We'll take you to our friend Ainur. She'll help you make a difference." So the pirates took the little ball of lightning toward the west, far from the red territory of the Plaguelands, and instead into a bright area, full of light and glistening rocks. There, Stormur felt at home, like a place had been waiting for him. Upon arriving, the two dragons that had rescued him took him to a very old, battle scarred Guardian who, at first, terrified the hatchling. It wasn't until she spoke that he relaxed. Her voice was soft, soothing. Almost mother-like. She regarded him quietly for a moment before reaching out her paws and scooping him up. He let out a small growl toward her, immediately exclaiming, "I am lightning! I will smite you!" This only made the old Guardian laugh, "I can see that. How about instead of smiting me, we put those powers to work fighting against those big bad guys." After thinking about it for a span of a nanosecond, Stormur nodded, "Yes. I am lightning and I will smite them." As he grew, Stormur learned how to battle from Ainur, following her relentlessly through the streets and claiming to everyone that he was lightning. And then he met Pebble. The click between them was almost instant. Pebble held out a rock to him, and Stormur immediately grabbed it and threw it at the nearest dragon's head. Unfortunately for the two, that dragon was Godhunter, and the look he gave the two would have smote them in their path had he been any kind of Godly being. The friendship between Stormur and Pebble continues to last, with their antics both terrifying and amusing the township, and also irritating more than one of the citizens. Luckily, Ainur seems to have a tight leash on the not-so-little Sandsurge, and has turned that energy into proper battle movements, though he has yet to knock her off her feet. |
