No one really knows where Pebble came from. He showed up one day with a hammer in hand and began banging on everything with it. It wasn't until he smashed Godhunter's big toe with the hammer that the town finally gave him a place to bang on things all he wanted. He was set up with a small forge and given instructions to make swords and armor for whomever needed it. Of course, the little Fae didn't know what any of that was, so most everything that comes out of his forge is just smashed ore mixed with rocks. No one bothers to tell him it's wrong. They just let him live his life. Pebble rarely speaks, mostly just handing out rocks to everyone and leaving little gifts in their belongings - usually in places that they don't belong. Like rocks in shoes and knives in salads, and there was one time that Godhunter woke with a bag of coal stuffed into their bathtub, sink and even under their pillow. The Abberation had no idea how the Fae managed it while he was sleeping but they swear if the tiny dragon keeps doing it, they will throw him over the cliff. Everyone knows they would never actually do this, but the threat lingers still. The only dragon who seems to have some kind of control over the little Fae is Sika, a rather vibrantly pink Guardian from the Water territory, who manages to keep the Fae's antics from straying straight into chaos. She manages to keep him from lighting the forge and the buildings around it on fire most of the time, yet can't deny how adorable the little dragon is. All everyone knows at this point is to check your shoes before putting your feet into them, and always check before you sleep because who knows where Pebble would have put something. |
