Shadow's original clan disbanded after its leader mysteriously disappeared. Wandering alone through the Tangled Wood, he came across a small lair, just starting out in the domain of Shadow. While he has enjoyed his time in the Tangled Wood, it's time to move on.

He did not know where to went so he started flying south, over 'the sea of thousand currents'. He crossed over the hot and dangerous volcanoes of the Ashfall Waste and flew over a wide, nameless ocean until he reached land. Shadow knew little about the world beyond the Wood, but he remembered many stories about the cold Island in the south, where the life was hard and full of wonders. He came across a pack of friendly dragons while foraging, who gave him a warm welcome. They told him that many lone wanderers came to this land to find adventure or a new family. Before long, he had caught the eye of a shy female, staying in the Tundra long enough to raise his hatchlings.

Shadow took off one again after bidding goodbye to the friendly dragons of that snow-covered land. He flew off east back towards the mainland, in the direction of the Windswept Plateau but a bad storm blew him off course. Wet and tired, he couldn't see anywhere to safely land. A blue Spiral who was also navigating the storm to collect lightning found him and helped guide Shadow to the lair he belonged to, the Antiqua Library. The night colored Skydancer was greeted by the matriarch of the library, Rhone, who invited him to stay as long as he needed.

After a while, Shadow felt the itch of adventure return to him, and set out once more. This time, the wind brought him back to where his journey began, in the Tangled Wood. In the Foxfire Bramble, Shadow has found himself in the care of the clan of Allixestr. The dragons there are very welcoming, easily accepting Shadow as one of their own. He's even managed to find a mate, at least for the time being. Hecate the mirror has grown very fond of him, and insists he share her nest. However, while Shadow has enjoyed his time with Allixestr, he soon feels the need to move on, once more...
