Biography
Like most amphibians, ruffletail tadhops are sensitive to pollution in their environment. Ruffletail tahops hatched in contaminated habitats often develop with mutations: missing limbs, extra limbs, multiple heads, that sort of thing. Thirty-two eyes, though, is a bit of an extreme case.
Crispin's former owners (now deceased) told us that they adopted Crispin as an oddity, intending to begin a "santuary for" such creatures, though by their talk of admission fees and the planned merchandise, it sounded like more of a roadside attraction.
It wasn't until later (too late, they said past the beeping heart monitors) that they realized Crispin was "cursed" with a "strange aura" that eventually killed anyone who cared for him.
Our geiger counters confirmed this to be true.
