She had no name. Left to her own devices for much of her youth, it was also believed that she had no future. She was fine with that; with her parents' indifference, she hardly had a past either.

It was this that made her such a tantalizing prospect for Phyrexia. A dragon with no past, with no attachments to family or friends was ideal. She could be molded into exactly what he needed her to be, and with no one to miss, and none to miss her, there was no risk of independence. No reason to hesitate, to doubt, to rebel.

She flinched when he bit her, of course. She struggled, as any under attack are wont to do, but by now he was experienced in the art of infection, and his body moved with a sinuous strength no mortal could resist.

For three long days, she shivered and groaned with fever, with pain, whimpering as flesh and blood and bone were transformed.

She survived, as he knew she would; after all, she had survived on her own as a child in the Lifeless Forest, so her will must be stronger than that of ordinary dragons. Her inborn Plague magic also proved a boon, as her body naturally wanted to adapt and overcome rather than simply give in and die out.

And when she was compleat, when she rose and shook her new body, he was not surprised when she sought him out immediately. After all, she had nothing to tie her to anyone else. All she had now was her phyresis

and him.

She took her name from his gift, though others would curse it and her for generations to come. Willing, unwilling, alive or dying-- she infected them all, forcing Compleation on them.

Some accepted it easily. Others resisted, sometimes for years, fighting the spreading necrosis and the beautiful artifice that formed to replace the vulnerable flesh, that grew to strengthen the weaknesses of simple muscle and bone.

She made them in Phyrexia's image, as he made her. As soon the two of them would make the world.
