Biography

Living on the cliffs with the rest of his clan, the fishing industry is large. Fish and waterfowl are a major source of food, even some insect-eaters and herbivores ate them for the extra vitamins and minerals it gives. Kelp, along with his work partner, Argy, collects fish and other sea creatures, small and large, for the survival of the clan.

Argi's dark coloring helps him blend in on the ocean floor, with Kelp's coloring making it seem like his namesake is floating aimlessly in the sea. The saltwater rubs against his scales, sensing his prey. Argi chirped from his position, Kelp trilling back. A small pod of blue whales, three, floats in the wide open ocean. Kelp wanders closer to the young adult, trading at the back of the group. The whole pod would sell for thousands of gold, with the adult female paying the most.

Kelp drifted down like a loose piece of seaweed. His spines twitched in anticipation, rattling lightly. Argi's chirps echoes through the water, rising up from the rocks. The young adult swam up, towards the foamy white surface of the ocean. Kelp drifted closer and closer, almost in striking distance. Argi trailed the main pod, close enough to feel the vibrations of their swimming. Seconds passed as both Undertides got into position.

Kelp opened his maw and rattled his spines, wings and tail preparing to burst forward.

Kelp shot forward and closed his jaws around the face of the whale. It thrashed as he wrapped his serpentine body around its, constricting. His spines injected just enough toxin to weaken the creature, but not enough to harm a dragon wanting to eat it. It let out a low bellow, warning the others in its group.

Argi, though, was already taking care of the others. Leaving large gashes with his spines, he already incapacitated the oldest and is netting up the female.

Kelp's whale started to slow down in its struggling, allowing Kelp to start tying it up. He attached the net to clips on his body, preparing to drag the whale all back home.
