Biography

They/them, nonbinary aromantic

Ghostbird has always been a biologist. Ecologies fascinate them, and they prefer to be alone in nature than in the company of their clanmates. They've seen strange disturbances: dragons in the distance that disappear after blinking, an unnaturally glowing fish, birds with to many eyes. Their obsession with the natural world has only continued as they encounter more of these phenomenon.

(Inspired by the character The Biologist from the Southern Reach Trilogy)

@wyrmflwer

Ghostbird, has there been any flora or fauna you've discovered that has truly scared you? Whether it be that you were startled by it, or just the fact that it exists makes you worry?

@StormyDragonKai

warning for some horror imagery! nothing gorey, but kind of disturbing

Ghostbird tilts their head to the side for a moment before replying, "I don't know if I've been truly scared, but I have been...disturbed. Worried. This was about a year ago, it was the dead of night and I couldn't sleep, so I decided to take a walk around the Clan's borders along the Singer's Brook to find some peace. But in the darkness I saw two small white lights right next to each other, seemingly staring at me before disappearing. I followed the source of the lights, and discovered a strange well. It looked long abandoned, but there was this massive plant growing out of the center, it appeared to be a flower bud just before blooming. There was actually a small gap between the petals, and when I glanced in I saw broken bones, and then suddenly a piercing cry rang out. I left quickly after that. Nothing I've seen since then seems to have any connection to that plant, which I am grateful for".
