Biography
──────────✽──────────
Ilar led a solitary existence within the icy confines of the prison she guarded. Born with an innate affinity for Ice magic, her delicate and ethereal veil-like wings shimmered, mirroring the frigid environment that surrounded her. Guided by duty rather than passion, she spent her days and nights patrolling the desolate halls, where the cries of prisoners echoed through the frosty air. As time passed, the weight of her monotonous role began to wear on her. Ilar's once compassionate spirit grew weary of witnessing the suffering and desperation of those confined within the prison's walls. The harsh reality gnawed at her heart, and she found herself longing for something more meaningful, a purpose that could ignite a flicker of enthusiasm in her chilled soul. To her dismay, Ilar's colleagues, fellow prison guards, gradually began to vanish, one by one. Blinded by the monotony of their work, they sought refuge elsewhere, leaving her alone to bear the weight of the prison's solemn presence. The absence of comradeship deepened her fatigue, intensifying the longing for a different path. Under the weight of her solitude, unexpected bonds began to form between Ilar and some of the prisoners. The shared isolation and the compassion she couldn't help but feel for their plight brought them closer, each offering companionship amidst the prison's desolation. These fragile connections, however, would ultimately become her undoing. In a surprising turn of fate, a sudden uprising erupted within the prison walls. The very prisoners Ilar had forged connections with, those she had grown to trust, led the rebellion that would leave her scarred, both physically and emotionally. In the chaos that ensued, a treacherous blow struck her, rendering her nearly blind, isolated amidst the whirling storm of betrayal and snow. Nearly frozen and on the brink of despair, hope miraculously flickered before her, manifested in a small lantern radiating a comforting heat. Its inviting glow guided her through the blizzard that engulfed the prison, offering solace and a path amidst the suffocating darkness. Grateful for this unexpected salvation, Ilar clung to the lantern, her guiding light in the desolate landscape that lay ahead. Now living in seclusion and haunted by past betrayals, Ilar keeps the lantern by her side. It serves not only as a beacon of light, but as a symbol of her newfound resolve to navigate the world without trust or vulnerability. Fearful of experiencing further heartbreak or deception, she remains secluded, unwilling to risk extending her fragile trust to anyone else. Behind her once vibrant and compassionate gaze now lies a mix of caution and sorrow, her veiled wings tinged with a colder, more foreboding shade. However, as Ilar lingers in her solitude, a sliver of hope still lingers within her frozen heart, waiting to be rekindled by an unexpected encounter or the emergence of a purpose that will allow her to emerge from the shadows and find solace once again. |
