A tuples ID is one that has two to four individual digits repeated in an ID, where at least two matching digits are adjacent per digit represented. In other words, there must be at least one instance of “tuples together” per digit counting towards the pattern. In an 8-digit ID, the tuples can be made of two, three, or four digits. Tuples must take up at least 6 out of 8 digits.

“Tuples together” means repeating digits are adjacent to each other, while “tuples apart” means repeating digits are repeating, but are not adjacent, like repeating sets. By requiring tuples together, we differentiate tuples IDs from repeating set IDs.

Tuples can be full or partial, and the sub-types we classify include 2-digit, 3-digit, and 4-digit.

The partial tuples sub-types are:

2-digit - two different digits repeating in an ID with at least one adjacent pair each; follows patterns like AAABBBxx, xAABBBAB, xAAAABBx, etc.
