Cinder likes to brag about her strength despite never having won a fight in her life. She is a bit of a showoff and very proud of herself, but she's all bark and no bite when it comes to almost anything. However, she is also a very lucky coatl. The runes grant her that luck and she must keep them clean or their influence will wane.

Cinder met Lionheart when they were both students in the same class. Lionheart wasn't a mage like her. He was a scholar studying the affects of runes on dragons. At first they were only friends, but after Cinder became a full-fledged mage and Lionheart finished his study, they fell in love and decided to settle down near the guild.
