Biography
Hrom Eternal Popular Intelligent Adventurous |
The party doesn’t start until Hrom walks in. At least, that’s what he likes to tell everyone. He’s hotheaded, arrogant, and proud of his power. Always has been, always will be. But he’s also one of those brilliant minds who has the smarts to back up how big he talks. As an adult dragon, it sure was a trait that served him well. There were few who truly enjoyed his presence, though many who needed his skills and expertise in the ways of engineering. Thus, he was never without opportunity, nor accolades. He liked things that way. Hrom had always had an interest in the multiverse. His biggest dream was to make contact with creatures beyond those in his own world that he thought were so beneath him. He was going to make it happen and to the Abyss anyone who said he couldn’t. Day and night he worked on a machine that would allow him to harness some power from the Forbidden Portal and open doorways to other places beyond. And when he was finally ready, he cleared his lab and set to work preparing for first contact on his own. Light flickered and flashed across the walls of the room as his portal flared to life. Hrom watched in amazement, never taking his eyes off of it. It began as a bright ball that expanded outward until the beginnings of an image appeared in the center. It grew clearer until… Bzzzzzz... A low droning sound filled the space. Squinting against the blinding light, Hrom began to make out a shape. It was shiny. And green. And sharp. Bzzzzzz... The creature came closer and finally emerged from inside the portal. Hrom’s eyes widened in amazement. It was a Boolean—a creature made of otherworldly technology that he’d only ever heard about in stories. But the amazement turned to fear as the creature caught sight of him. Quickly, it zipped in his direction, stinger outstretched for a devastating blow. Hrom shrieked. It’s the last thing that he remembered before everything went black. Days passed before he awoke. And when he opened his eyes, he was horrified to find that he’d shrunk to the size of a mere pebble. A look around the now-destroyed lab showed that the Boolean and the portal had vanished, but a glance in a broken piece of metal gave him an even bigger fright. He’d been turned back into a hatchling. Frantic, Hrom searched high and low for a science that could make him an adult again, but to no avail. Now, he lives with Anzu in the Playground, far away from his old home and in search of a way to track down the Boolean that turned him so that he can exact his revenge. |
