Biography
The never-ending wind of the Reedcleft-Ascent is cold and cruel towards those who enter it unprepared. Bambus knows first-hand just how dangerous it can be.
Up until recently, he lived high up on the cliffs, well-adapted to the cold air and fast wind currents. But when a storm swept over the lands, he was blown off his pillar, caught by the wind and flung in all directions. As he crashed to the ground, one of his wings tore, and he has since been unable to fly properly.
A sharp pain shot through Bambus' right wing, abruptly waking him up. He immediately tried to stand up and make sense of his surroundings, but regretted it just as fast when the pain in his wing got ten times worse because of it. He could feel a clawed hand on his back, pushing him back down onto a nest. He didn't know where he was or who was with him, but with how much pain he was in, he couldn't move or get a good look at the situation.
"Uh... Sikuri? I think he's awake..."
The voice came from right by his side. He looked to his left and saw a Skydancer who looked just like him, likely the one who pushed him down. She seemed concerned and a bit anxious, and when she noticed that he was looking at her, she let out a surprised yelp and backed off a step.
"Yup! You are... definitely conscious."
Bambus let out a pained huff. "Oh, I wonder what- what gave it away..." He winced mid-sentence. Even talking was difficult.
"Don't strain yourself!" The dragon chastised. Behind her, a second Skydancer approached. Her face was covered by a Windbound Mask, making her hard to read.
"You finally woke up. Greetings, I'm Sikuri." Her tone was friendly and polite.
"I don't know either of you. Where am I? What happened?"
Sikuri sat down in front of him, then explained: "You're in my den, in Singer's Brook. I found you on the ground yesterday. You were unconscious and injured. Arietta and I tried to take care of your wing, but neither of us is proficient in healing magic... so all we could do was stabilize and bandage it. How are you feeling?"
Bambus looked to his right, where he saw that his wing was stretched out and wrapped in bandages. He quickly realized that it was probably broken.
"I'm... fine. Given the circumstances. Thank you for your help."
