  Noble + Stylish + Dedicated Conventional + Predictable + Escapist An unusual addition to the unruly crowd, sophisticated Zachariah and eccentric Sophronia are the only dragons to date that have enjoyed full immunity from the Matriarch's machinations and decrees. The pair were requested by vote, are paid a salary, and they work autonomously of the hierarchy. In fact, Matriarch Khala doesn't approve of the two dragons one bit, and has been outright hostile and sour. Zachariah, however, just enjoys how easily he understands what Khala is saying, due to the Guardian's booming and melodious way of speaking. And with a lack of permanent resident Coatls, Khala has become his first choice for initiating conversations. Thankfully, the polite gifts he's often bearing have always soothed over her bad temper. There's no denying he's improved life three-fold by bringing a touch of civility. Although Zachariah wasn't hired for a set of specific skills, he was immediately appalled by the state of the vault. Scavengers and hunters would merely dump what they found, and they have gotten complaints about the foul, barbaric odor lingering on everything. The storerooms have since been cleaned, organized, labeled, and Zachariah is still trying to find a system for cataloging inventory that the other dragons find simple enough to use. Meanwhile, it's an uphill battle to keep the vault in passable conditions. Zachariah aspires to the title of "Best Dressed Dragon". In his previous lair, the Antigravity spirit had only spent money on clothes for other dragons. But look! In an impulse of generosity, the spirit had given Zachariah some apparel! It's - it's - A pair of bracelets?! (You can't win them all, Zachariah.) However, his bad fortune follows him, and ironically, those bracelets have become his most prized possession. When he first arrived to the den of his new clan, he was showered with gifts, and while the clothing was modest--if not a little tacky--it was a step in the right direction. Tragically, the Coatl soon learned that those gifts were borrowed from other dragons, and that in the spirit of Ridgeback society, one-by-one everything turned up elsewhere. Trying to keep a wardrobe intact has so far proven impossible. This has made Zachariah upset; but being ever so classy, he doesn't hold a grudge, and he's learning to enjoy what he has when he has it. ————————————— |
