Runewood
Runewoods come to be as a result of the death and resurrection of a Wooden Toy, most often Woodworks but sometimes Venomwoods, rarely Heartwoods. When a Wooden Toy dies for the sake of a flesh and blood dragon, and is mourned by their song to the point that they can barely take it, the toy’s core will flash back to life, both due to the deep emotion of their song seeping into their inner workings, and because of their desire not to see their song so sad. Such toys find their souls and eyes runed from their journey to the other side. Some awaken to find themselves with feather-like features, while others have similar patterns on their bodies to the ones on their soul. Whatever the case, just like a Heartwood, they are bound to their body, and cannot be removed from their vessel. Runewoods have a powerful sense of duty and the deepest, truest understanding of what love is of all the variants. They do not need to understand the concepts of good and evil as Heartwoods do: love is all that matters to them. Unlike the other variants, they are unable to regress into a Venomwood, as they understand that death is not the end, but rather a new beginning, and that everything in this world may fade, but that which matters will stay forever.

Common Eyes
The most common eye type, nothing particularly unusual happened in the creation of the toy. They may have been made by a craftsman that is used to making them. Common-eyed wooden toys are known for their stability, both physically and emotionally, and fare fairly well in strange situations. They are sometimes developed as a result of a long period of gentle peace in a toy’s life, but not always.
