her most trusted friend

Lunetta was born the youngest out of five siblings. Her parents had travelled all the way from the Starfall Isles and settled down in Dragonhome, in one of its many craggy gorges.
________________________________________
Despite never having once seen it, Lunetta loved the Starfall Isles. She grew up on tales of it's beautiful trees that stretched into the sky and of the millions of flowers that would blossom under the shimmering moonlight. Telling her those stories were the only times her parents were affectionate so she became attached to both the place and their descriptions of it. She grew to yearn for a home she'd never been to. Unfortunately, her parents had created their perfect lair in Dragonhome and they didn't desire to fly back So, after all her siblings had gone and left, Lunetta decided that she would also fly out to find that promised grove. Having never flown anywhere father than a few minutes before, Lunetta had underestimated how difficult her trip would be and quickly became lost. She flew the wrong direction and ended up finding herself in the harsh desert of the Scarred Wastelands. She was wholly unprepared and quickly grew both hungry and thirsty. All she could see was more and more sand. The only thing that marked her way were bones and sickly plants; nothing she could eat, nothing she could recognize, nothing that gave her hope for survival. At her most desperate and final minute, when she was laying across the hot sands of the Boneyard, wings too tired to carry her weary body anymore, her saviour appeared in the form of a type of dragon she'd never seen before. He was large, with a face that looked like a skull. Lunetta, thought, perhaps, he was the grim reaper there to take her to the afterlife. Instead, he had turned out to be the one she was fated to spend the rest of her life with. |

Lunetta was quickly taken care of by the dragon that found her and the two of them developed a rather tight bond. He seemed gruff and silent to someone like Lunetta, who spoke a hundred miles an hour and let her thoughts loose no matter how rude. But his silence wasn't cold. Rather, he showed how attentive and sweet he was every second they were together.
Falling in love with him almost felt impossible to avoid. The two of them had their first clutch shortly after. It took Warden, her saviour, a while to get used to Lunetta's rather odd nesting; she insisted on living near a cliff where she finally made use of the tree sap she had brought with her. That was what was normal for Fae like her. For dragons like Warden, though, they usually never settled into one place for fear of threats. However, Lunetta had a way of making Warden feel safe. After laying her first clutch of eggs, Lunetta promised she'd be different than her parents. She wanted to raise her offspring with all the love she could. To mark that promise she made to herself, she changed her name, the last thing she had that connected her to her parents. She would be Luna and she would make sure that everyone around her would be filled with her affection and her love. Her mate, her children, the rest of her clan would never doubt her adoration for them for one second. And, after what had happened to her in the Wastelands, both she and her mate made a vow to help every single weary traveller that came across their clan. Every single dragon who found themselves lost in the Boneyard would find rest in their lair. |
