...a curt breath, and another, and another. Life is short, and stays short in the Carrion Canyon. But to beasts of this temper, the constraints of the linear passings of the world is but a faint memory, remnants of their past before being affiliated with the Rise. One of three powerful shifting forces of the world, Atlas was selected to become one of them.

He faced the dark, and did not come back the same. Twisting augments and tall standing frills, a jagged and powerful form from the soft flesh that once came. Looking back was not an option, he did so regardless. Pulling himself from the depths of the twisting dark, as any of the Rise would, instead of the continuation of cycles, Atlas fled. Diving into the sand beneath his feet, and continuing until he could no longer. And still then, pushed himself across the churning sea, across the plains of erupting flame, before stopping for refuge within breeze bound meadows.

A stranger in a strange land, nothing of his own needed to be changed more than it already had. Through years of hard work, Atlas carved an identity of his own, found a life of his own choosing, however insignificent it is. Cycles bound to the forever, seemingly, broken.

He does not want to look back.

Quiet in a stilted way, with a thousand words within him that will churn and roar and bellow but will never show. There's something in his eyes. Something that wants to escape. Light is too bright on him, shadows too dark. If you replace everything in someone, is it still them?
