Tonic grew up under the tutelage of her father, a skilled artist, weaponsmith, and warrior. In her clan, dragons fought to the death for the right to live in the den. Tonic grew up hearing about her father's successes in particular, using his smarts and handmade weapons. She looks up to him, but despite how doting he is — her jewelry was a gift he made himself — she's still bitter that he refused to pass down his weapon-making techniques. She left the Pit because he forced her to develop her own.

Her parents' abrasive personalities rubbed off on her. Generally speaks straightforwardly to others and expects the same courtesy, to the point where she'll roll her eyes and walk away from an interaction if she feels the other parties are wasting her time. Hates admitting when she's wrong but also hesitates to admit when she doesn't know the answer to something. Underhanded like her father and will do most anything to get what she wants, including manipulating others and outright violence. Likes to think she's cold and unfeeling, but enough time spent with her will show how fake that mask is.

Tonic inherited both of her parents' elemental abilities, combined into poisonous fire. Inhaling smoke she can spit from her mouth can cause respiratory illness. Her flames are toxic enough to cause infection even as they cause severe burns. Her fire is so dangerous that it can't be used to make regular jewelry or weapon handles — the only things she can craft with it are weapon tips intended to have a poisonous edge to them. These abilities are formidable, but after a lifetime of bragging about her father's old battle victories, she's egotistical enough to underestimate her foes.
