Melpomene

Melpomene is the greek muse associated with singing and tragedy, born to Zeus and Mnemosyne. She is the mother of many of the sirens, and the handmaidens of Kore. The handmaidens were cursed by Demeter once they failed to prevent her kidnapping at the hands of Hades. She is not very widely known, being in only a few myths.

| - Hatchling Age

Nefarious stole her egg off of a pair of black market dragons, right before she was about to hatch. While he feels some guilt occasionally, he feels like he did the right thing. After all, that black market pair was known for selling eggs for some sick dragons.

While she does struggle sometimes to understand other dragons, she is more adept at it than her coatl brethren. She also never learned the coatl tongue, having never been taught. She's more than happy to talk to the other hatchlings, even if they find her annoying sometimes. Euterpe also latched onto Nefarious, and she ends up accompanying him to many lectures and daily errands.

The reason for her name is simple, really. She really, REALLY likes to "sing". Melpomene will often attempt a sort of singing where she hums and flares her feathers. I'm sure it sounds lovely to her, but it certainly does not to the other clan dragons.
