Eripete

Eripete is the head scout of the clan. Swift and focused, he leads five patrols a day, with the only exceptions being days when he has messenger duties, seeing as he is also the main ambassador. He does not fuss about his work load, being very devoted to the clan and, frankly, enjoying the thrill of sprinting through the searing rock fields far more than being antagonized by his clan mates. Many dragons are surprised when they first speak to him, as he usually does nothing more than bow as a means of communication, doing his work silently as well as diligently. He is soft spoken and extremely intelligent, with bird-like mannerisms, angling his head to listen, hopping about or hunching down to sniff the grass even as he speaks. He is one of Maevyin's few trusted friends, and he is just as determined to keep the trust of her and any other dragons as he is to fulfill his duties.
Eripete's companion, Urthen, is rarely seen at his side. Like the dragon she has bonded with, the hippogryph is very industrious, and she has taken over nest-tending. She and Eripete do share a close bond, however- it is merely that they both prioritize their duties, and have a deep enough understanding to be apart without fear of abandonment. At night, Urthen sleeps between Eripete and Chryndes, and that is all the attention she really needs. She cannot speak, but she takes directions very well.
