Defeat had been captured at a young age and forced into a life of gladiatorial combat. The coliseum was his prison, a place where he was pitted against various opponents, ranging from other dragons to ferocious beasts. The spectators, hungry for bloodshed and entertainment, reveled in the battles that unfolded before them.

Defeat yearned for freedom, his every fiber resisting the violence that consumed his life. Every time he was thrust into the arena, he would instinctively try to flee, dodging blows and darting between his adversaries like a wild animal. He fought not out of a desire to kill but to preserve his own life, clinging onto a glimmer of hope.

It was during one of these desperate battles that Defeat's path crossed with a dragon known as Victory. She was an imposing figure, with scales of shimmering gold and a fiery mane that danced with the wind. Victory reveled in the coliseum, savoring the taste of triumph and relishing in the demise of her foes.

As Defeat faced Victory in the arena, he could sense something different about her. Amidst the bloodlust that consumed her, he detected a glint of recognition in her eyes—a recognition of his own yearning to survive. In that moment, their gazes locked, a silent understanding passed between them.

As the battle commenced, Defeat fought with an unfamiliar strength, fueled by desperation and by the possibility of escape. Victory, floundered by the boldness and sudden change of personality held back her full power, allowing Defeat to put up a fight.

In a surprising turn of events, as Defeat launched himself towards Victory, she seized him by the neck, but instead of striking a fatal blow, she spread her majestic wings and raced to the door. The spectators erupted in shock and disbelief as Victory dragged Defeat's seemingly limp body into the coliseum. Racing down corridors until they erupted outside.

The burning in her eyes as she dropped him entranced him. He hesitantly answered her when she spoke to him, somehow getting her to bring him along.

As their travels they bonded and genuinely came to like each other. He would always remine a loser to the coliseum, but now he had the taste of Victory he had always wanted.
