Icarus

Tick, tock, tick, tock.
One often thinks that is the sound of time, but to Icarus? It is just an annoying sound.
When Icarus was a young dragon, medicine took her interest, though in her little clan, a female dragon being anything but an egg-tender or a huntress was unheard of. So she set out on her own.
On her travels she found any a disturbed thing, slowly putting together what caused sickness and disease. Soon she came upon a very old dragon, who promised her immortality, in exchange for one, small, favor. A whole infinite amount of time to study and find cures? Icarus agreed before she even heard the deal, shaking the dragons talons. The old dragon smiled, and said in 1000 years, she is to kill a child coatl to prevent a plague. A baby coatl?? Easy. Icarus assured the dragon she would, and left.
However when that day came, and Icarus came upon the small pink child, eyes deep red with such a curiosity same as Icarus's own, she couldn't bring herself to put the sword threw her heart. Icarus lives with the guilt of all the dragons killed due to her inaction, carrying around the sword at her hip to hopefully one day finally put the poor soul to rest, though she herself, is slowly succumbing. Although she cannot die, that doesn't mean she wont suffer
