Biography

Heartwood
Sapience is a gift, and Heartwoods have earned it. After years or even decades of being loved both by their craftsman and those around them, they have developed free will and an identity of their own. The personality and temperament of the Heartwood, however, all exists in response to the life they led as a Woodwork. Yet, unlike their less developed counterparts (“children'' in their minds), Heartwoods have an understanding of good and evil, and the ability to choose one or the other. While a Woodwork may go with anything their favorite person tells them is right, a Heartwood gets to decide for themselves what is right.

Each wooden toy develops into Heartwoods and Venomwoods at different rates, so there are no hard numbers that can be given for how long a toy may have before it becomes a Venomwood. Some may take a few years to become a Heartwood but mere days for a Venomwood. Others may take decades to become a Heartwood and years to become a Venomwood. It all depends on their creation

Common Eyes
The most common eye type, nothing particularly unusual happened in the creation of the toy. They may have been made by a craftsman that is used to making them. Common-eyed wooden toys are known for their stability, both physically and emotionally, and fare fairly well in strange situations. They are sometimes developed as a result of a long period of gentle peace in a toy’s life, but not always.
