Biography
Caliginous
The full moon shines upon the endless bodies of water creating a mysterious yet beautiful scene. Lustrous walks around the edge of the rocks near the water hoping to catch a late night snack when suddenly she saw Caliginous. It isn’t an odd thing to see her at this time, in fact she always stands somewhere every night looking at the night sky for hours before going to sleep, it’s like her ritual, usually Lustrous will just walk away ignore her and do her own thing but today Lustrous is curious of why Caliginous does this and so Lustrous walks up to Caliginous and asks “You seem to be looking at the night sky every single night, I wonder why…”
Caliginous turns back to turns to look at Lustrous while looking little bit startled and then answered “don’t you think that it’s beautiful? Especially today, the moon looks so bright, don’t you think that you could stare at it for forever?”
“The moon is beautiful and bright, yes but still I don’t get why some dragon would look at the moon every night as like a ritual.” Lustrous comments on Caliginous’s answer.
Caliginous looks back at the moon but this time a little bit zoned out. Pictures of the past starts forming in her mind as if she is reliving her past.
Wet slippery seaweeds washed up on the shoreline as young Caliginous and her mother is looking for food, they saw the green tasty feast below as they were searching for food, Caliginous would nimble on the seaweeds till she is full and they’ll return home, the seaweeds usually wash up here once every week and the spot where they would wash up usually have a beautiful view of the moon, she remembered her mother looking up to the moon as the moonlight shines to her face, she looks as gorgeous as ever and then she said “What a beautiful sight don’t you think, Cal?” She looks to the moon when her mother said that and she saw that this isn’t like any other nights as the moons is round and shines brightly. Time passes and they don’t thing that anything would ever change until that night… It seems like a normal night but then a dragon swoops from the sky perhaps hoping to steal food, it caught her mother off guard, her mother wrapped her wings around Cal and not long after she realized that she is surrounded by coldness, she remembered her mother looking at the moon before she passed… her mind started to call her back to reality as she call out “mother…” quietly but audible, it took her a few seconds to realize that she said that out. She looks around her and realized that Lustrous is no where to be seen. Perhaps she took too long to answer and Lustrous walked away when she wasn’t paying attention but she wasn’t going to give Lustrous an answer anyway or to anyone as it is a secret.
