Though Surya is a god, the dragon Surya felt a kinship with him greater than her preference for sharing a name with a deity of her own gender. She adores Summer, the blazing heat and light of the sun, and is often found basking where others dare not lay for more than a few minutes. She values all things radiant, though she does not covet them. Like her mate Vayu, she is keen on flight, and regularly soars over the land to admire the world in person. While caring for her hatchlings, she stays close at claw in case she is needed, though her restless nature means her children are often pushed—with patience and kindness—to the skies with her as soon as their wings can carry them.
