Living up to the exceptions of the former Queen has not been easy for Varda. She went from being a simple, tiny fae, born to starve Stormcatcher to a Queen of a large clan overnight. Despite not always being confidant in what she was doing, she put on a brave face and faked it until she made it. She still relies heavily on her trusted team of advisors, but Varda is strong-willed and will always follow her gut, even against the advice of her council. She's brave and strong and will never back down from a fight, even ones she can't win.

Romance has never been Varda's strong suit. in fact, being in a relationship of any kind has no appeal to Varda. However, she knows that mating and having children is an important part of being queen. She even enjoys mating, even if all the emtional stuff that tends to go along gets annoying. Varda also runs into several potenial mates who's only desire is to try and become King and control her and her people. Her first mate was like this and she almost lost her firstborn to him. Now she knows better and has picked her mates much more carefully. A mate has never lasted longer then a nest, but Varda loves her children and would do anything for them.
