Biography
This dragon is an ancient god, existing long before the deities of Sornieth. He lingered on the edge of space as the first world imploded, and everything was born anew. His original name cannot be spoken in Draconic, so he opts for the closest possible translation: Cosmo. The form he has taken to blend in with the others is that of a Veilspun, although far larger than the rest of the species; he is around the size of an Imperial. When the world of Sornieth officially formed, he was there on the sidelines, quietly lending his energy to the new earth and allowing it to flourish. In this way, he gave away his power and status as a higher god, and resigned himself to be under the reign of one of the seven main deities. Although lesser than his fellow immortals, he is no less important, having formed an avid group of followers as a consequence of what he did to help the various forming dragon societies dotting the planet. |
However, this small following would soon become cultish, the dragons that he once thought of as his earthly children becoming like fallen comets in his eyes. He, too, would become disillusioned by this cult, now dubbed The Order of the Cosmic Eye. Because he and his followers were so closely intertwined, their actions would corrupt his soul by proxy, causing him to descend into utter despair and madness. | "The lunar calendar, once so accurate, will bend to his whim, and his whim alone. The skies will mirror the Great Abyss, the moon becoming blood. A sanguine glow will be cast across all that is his territory, belonging to the one who surveys the universe with star-fallen eyes..." |
His actions will not be his own, and he will have no control over the group he was previously responsible for. Cosmo is nothing but a puppet in the claws of the cult's leader, who is now immensely powerful since enslaving a god with nothing but mere words. Cosmo is the one receiving orders, not giving them; carrying out atrocities, not stopping them; leading his people astray as a figurehead deity instead of guiding them to the light. | "...Woe be upon the children hatched within those days, for they will be amalgamates of defiled and divine... Sorrow upon the unhatched ones, for their soiled yolks ridden with rot will invade the insides of their shells... Cursed be those who deny his name and glory, for they will be set ablaze, with the fire afflicting them having the heat of a supernova..." |
The prophecy must not come to fruition. This world is simply not ready for yet another cataclysmic event in the age of dragons and other great creatures. Cosmo's internal fight rages on as he quells the effects of darkness and corruption within his heart and soul. However, his resolve and power both seem to be waning... just like the phases of the moon...
Silence. Darkness. Nothingness.
It is peaceful here. The dawn of time is a pleasant place for an outside force to linger. However, it is no longer time for it to be dawn. Midday is coming for the universe.
