Biography

One of the three chosen first-generation fighters of the clan, but has professed no interest in the title of heir to the clan. Not one for words, he nevertheless has a grounded and vicious personality that would pursue an enemy to the ends of Sornieth if they hurt either of his sworn sisters, Lycora of Dilitira. One who holds a preference for isolation when not in the company of his sworn sisters, much in the same vein as the rest of his species. He prefers to coordinate border patrol of the clan's territory when not resting, fighting, or having brief conversations with his other friends/casual mates Umran and MintDistiller. ~ 6/30/23
Flamerun isn't really a dragon's dragon. This is not an unusual thing of course, most Bogsneaks are solitary by choice and nature, but where Flamerun is odd is his deep attachment to his battlesisters and clan in contrast to his birth family. Flamerun was only a few days into adulthood when Nychta found him. Originally hailing from the Windswept Plateau, he was born venerable lair in Singer's Brook and later raised briefly in the Reedcleft Ascent by his teacher, a plaugeflight Mirror who he found injured and decided to help in exchange for survival lessons when he was a third of the way through his hatchling period. The Mirror, who was still recovering at that point, saw no reason not to. The dragon who was his mentor never gave her name, but instilled in him most all he would need to survive in almost every corner of Sornieth if applied correctly, a deep yearning to be a part of a pack, and to honor all that she had taught him up to that point he asked her to name him. Both of Flamerun's parents were Bogsneaks, he received no great and deep affection or tending, nor did he want that at that point in his life. He simply had no great attachment to anyone in his life he would tell himself. One day Flamerun awoke and the Mirror who had never given her name but had given him his was simply gone. He didn't cry at that point he would tell Lycora and Dilitira in the future, but in his more vulnerable retellings, he would admit to his battlesisters that he felt terribly aimless, exposed, and alone.

Flamerun, however, was a survivor, as taught and instilled in him by his now long-gone Mirror mentor. He used the knowledge given to him by his mentor to navigate the Wandering Contagion. He managed to finish crossing the Abiding Boneyard on the first day he was officially a dragon rather than a hatchling, he was very proud of the day he finally had two fully grown Dorsal sails. He wasn't dumb enough to go one step closer to the Wyrmwound than he had to. Nevermind that he wasn't in any great hurry to get to a particular place, he just decided to travel along the waterside of the territory around the Blight Sanctum and eventually made his way past the barrier of the Foxfire Bramble acting as a bulwark against the lands of the Plaugebringer. His journey was not without obstacles. The dragons of the Plague flight did not let him through the three regions without injury, not to mention that when he attempted and succeded in crossing the Foxfire Bramble he was harried constantly by shadow dragons of varying levels of maliciousness. Nychta found him, unconscious and dying half-hidden among the cattails and hollow logs of a muddy stream.

Nychta thought Flamerun a tenacious thing when she first saw him, strings of fate and guardianship weaving themselves into existence between the two parties as the thought passed through her mind. Disease riddling him telling of a more than brief foray into the Plaguebringer's domain and Nychta was experienced enough to see the marks of her fellow shadow dragon's ahem....tricks on the male which marked him as not part of any local clan. She thought he was probably a lone dragon who had wandered, due to a lack of a sense of direction or because he was defeated and pushed out of his territory, much too far from his usual haunts. At that point, all of those thoughts and circumstances were moot, the strings of guardianship and fate pulled them together so by the time she made it over to where he was, she fished him out of the stream, threw him on her back, and continued foraging for her, at the time, very nascent clan consisting of her, Imerus, Lycora, and now this odd dragon she fished out of the water. Flamerun, of course, tried to rip out Nychta's throat when he came to consciousness, but she gently beat him into submission and tied Flamerun up with vines while making sure to put herbs to help counteract all that he had been through and help along his healing, continuing her way home to bring back food and their newest Clan member. ~7/14/23
Adaptability, change, and trickery are hallmarks of those hailing from the shadow element and concepts that Flamerun has truly taken to, like a dragon to flight. Lycora is an Imperial with the water element, Dilitira is an Undertide with the wind element, and Flamerun is a Bogsneak with the wind element.

Lycora, like many of her fellow Imperials, isn't the most adept at aerial combat. She can hold her own, but wise coliseum dragons, or those not desperate enough, fight in teams of three for a reason. She often uses her respectable size for, in conjunction with Dilitira, harrying opponents out of the sky into the waiting maw of Flamerun. When her claws hit the ground, the tide of battle always seems to turn for the better. She often joins in her teammate's training. Flamerun's strength and terrain training in conjunction with Dilitira's flexibility and agility training have turned her into a calamity on the battlefield. Lycora's drive, as an Imperial, to perfect combat probably makes up no small part of her motivation and will. After all, for an Imperial one never knows how much time they have. She is determined to spend every minute receiving and giving her love to her clan and friends.

Flamerun is often the first to attack an enemy or groups of enemies. His talent in using the terrain, his exceedingly strong jaw, and the mild paralytic fluid in his capsule to his advantage for locking down enemies for his battle companions. Additionally, he has quite a streak of snapping opponents knocked out of the sky by Lycora or Dilitira. The three of them have made something of a game of it.

Dilitira, for all that she is the most sociable and approachable of the three, keeps a bit of physical distance from all but her teammates and the Clan's current Matriarch, Nychta. Undertides have a notable disadvantage on the land, so some were surprised that one of the First Generations members was to be an Undertide. Nychta's ability for long-term planning shined when she first hit the coliseum with her battlesibilings. Dilitira, like most all of her breed, has venom, but Dilitira is constantly emitting venom which often takes the form of her flaxen sparkle gene. In the water or high in the air, it billows out like a cloud, and on the land the venom flakes off of every part of her body. Hence, if Dilitira ends up on the ground, when not in the sky making a game of knocking opponents out of the sky and into Flamerun's mouth or attacking from above, is an utterly deadly constrictor. For now, she has a reign in her sociable personality until she gets a full hold on her venom production. Thankfully as she grows in strength from her team's struggles in the coliseum she is gaining control bit by bit. ~7/14/23
Recently, Flamerun welcomed a clutch of hatchlings he had with Spora, one of the clan's few priest, and by decree of the Guardian dragon was able to keep one of his daughters, Somna. ~7/29/23
