HISTORY

Frozen landscape of Southern Icefield holds many secrets – some wondrous, some dark and scarring. And the jailers of Sornieth, the Gaolers, were familiar with so many of the latter ones it was no wonder they had isolated from the rest of the world.

Firlaong was born and raised in the frozen ruins of one of the ancient jails, where the Gaolers were hard at work, trying to learn how to contain and destroy the Shade infection. Containment was easy, but destruction – now that was another beast entirely.

It was only after getting an envoy from the Arcane that they started to look for outside solutions for this particular problem...

Firlaong was still relatively young – only at the cusp of adult hood, all gangly limbs and shaggy fur – when this envoy arrived. And while his clans more serious nature was starting to set in, Firlaong was hardly the most closed off Gaoler of the group – meaning he and this envoy were naturally spending most time together during the visit.

It was this envoy that gave Firlaong the desire to go out and explore – especially if it could help his clan-mates on their quest. So, after requesting the permission countless times, the elder finally relented – and allowed Firlaong to travel.

The travels started off quite well – seeing different climates and tribes being enriching experience. It was during these travels however that Firlaong took a notice of new kind of threat by Shade – the infectious one, that corrupted things in crystalline form.

He also noticed a small group of dragons fighting off these corrupted beings, and containing the black crystals. It was rudimentary system, full of flaws – and Firlaong, long time fighter against all things Shade, decided to offer his assistance.

He’d take care of these Shade Shards, take them into the Ice domain, and let their newest allies figure out how to destroy them.

Needles to say, the Shade Slayers were more than happy to accept this proposition – especially since the clans involved offered monetary compensation for their assistance in hunting down more Shade Shards.

Now, Firlaong travels between the camps, collecting the Shards and depositing extra gold in the hunters paws.
