These large predators are most commonly found in Asia and Africa. They prefer to hunt their prey with their prides and share their meals. The territory of a lion pride typically ranges around 20 kilometers (8 miles). The entire purpose of a lions mane is to intimidate other predators and impress potential mates. they can eat up to 66lbs in one sitting. Lions are polygamous and they breed throughout the year but females are typically limited to 1-2 males in their pride. Gestation usually takes up to 108 days and a litter can consist of up to 6 cubs. They reach maturity at ages 3-4 years old
