History
Umbriferous started its life in a fairly prosperous clan. However, at some point, it was left behind, and was taken in by a different one. This clan was more cuthroat, and trained Umbriferous to be a warrior. It was incredibly good at its job, its fractal eyes being able to see more and react quicker to threats. Umbriferous learned quickly to not care about its appearance, and to do its job quickly lest it face consequences from its clan.
Eventually, Umbriferous argued for a temporary vacation, which was cut short as the Clan quickly began to break apart now that one of their best warriors was not around to keep people in line with its reputation alone. While Umbriferous never enforced any rules, the clan leaders there would warn its citizens that if they misbehaved, their punishment would be turned over to their fiercest, most monstruous warrior. Umbriferous did not hear about this rumour until after it had left, and felt hurt but knew that it made a startling amount of sense.
Here at Grandrath, Umbriferous feared being put to work again as a mercenary. However, Lluvin and the rest of the Clan's Leadership had no need for excessive shows of force, and encouraged Umbriferous to settle down and take life slowly. Umbriferous was very cautious, and holed itself up deep in the Shaded Woods, before it realized that it enjoyed this slow life and began interacting more with people. It was on one of the outings to gather supplies for its home that it met Magpie.
