Not all members of the Winterguard are warriors; this divine order needs a place to commune with the gods. Scintillak and his mate Temple appeared at the fortress gates soon after the fall of Cambrian's forces. Some whisper that the pair of them were soldiers for the wrong side during the war, but the Winterguard is a place where the past is no consequence.

Scintillak tends to his shrine far beneath the ice, in a sanctuary warmed by the presence of hot springs. He spends much of his time meditating and helping others of the guard pray and commune. Scintillak is not a dragon driven by action, and can come across as a bit lost in the clouds. He is so confident in his ability to speak to the gods that some have doubted his spirituality, writing him off as a sham.

Nevertheless, he is a source of tranquility and calm in the harsh environment of the Fortress of Ends, and many members of the Winterguard highly value his presence.
