Adrumedal
Beekeeper | He/Him

Adrumedal is an enthusiastic, fun-loving dragon who loves bees. Like, really loves bees. You could call it an obsession. He also takes an interest in butterflies, moths, and flying insects in general. "Rummy," as he's called by most, is known for being a (surprisingly gentle and sweet) goofball and all-around great person, but he can be impulsive or careless at times.

Moments at the Traveling Breeze

Sometimes the cold can be quite a burden after a long while. So, when the Traveling Breeze came by Adrumedal's clan and offered him and his clanmates the opportunity to travel he quickly took it. Him and his bees joined the caravan as excitement filled his every bone and scale. Besides new dragons and lands he wonders if he will see more bees as well.

With the bees that Adrumedal adopted during his travels he was able to gather many jars of honey that tasted much different from the honey he would produce at home. A bit sweeter and warmer, more like a syrup. He started to pass out the jars of honey to the dragons in the Traveling Breeze as a kind gesture for allowing him to travel with them. Though when he handed Ardler a jar, Ardler perked up and started to study it.

My, my. What a rare type of honey… How were you able to acquire such a good?” Ardler’s eyes quickly move from the honey to Adrumedal with much curiosity.

Adrumedal responds happily, “Oh, I did not acquire this honey. My bees made it and now I am sharing their hard work! It is amazing how there are so many types of bees in the world and this honey is much different than what I produce at home.

As he rambles, Ardler's eyes sparkle seeing the own sparkle in Adrumedal’s as well, “I see you are also an insect connoisseur just as me… though only with bees. It is rare to find someone as knowledgeable as us in such a subject even if it is over one type of the many insects in the lands…

YOU RESEARCH BEES!!! How many types are there? How many kinds of honey? What are their behaviors? Tell me everything you know!!!” Adrumedal jumps around in excitement, almost knocking Ardler around as he is so small. “I am sorry, Ardler. I am just so excited!

I see that… but that is good. Here let me tell you about bees…” Ardler rambles about the many facts of bees like how they are very tidy, that they can fly as fast as about 20 miles per hour, and that they actually will raid other bees’ hives for honey. When he finishes, Adrumedal smiles. “To think there was so much to know about my little friends! I thought I knew everything but hearing about them from you it seems I’ve just only scratched the surface.

“...And you would be surprised that some insects are just as interesting as well… like beetles.[/i]”

Beetles?

For the entire day, Ardler explains both bees and beetles to Adrumedal who now seems a bit interested in these colorful insects that come in many shapes and sizes. Hopefully his clan will not mind if he adopted a few beetles to see what they are like as well…

Bees loved to follow Adrumedal everywhere and more seemed to have joined him as he traveled across the hills of flowers with the Traveling Breeze. Such joy! He cannot wait to bring his little friends back to his home clan and show them all of the different types of bees there are in the world! Though one ‘bee’ looked quite off to him,

My, what an odd bee you are. I haven’t seen you in any books!” Adrumedal cupped his hands as he held what seemed to be a bee with much darker colors, and it seemed to sparkle… and speak!

Bee? Bee?” It spoke and looked around as if he was not speaking to it. “Me bee? No. I am no bee.

Adrumedal looked closer and observed that this was no bee, but a Fae! How could he make such an error in observation! Feeling embarrassed and a tad guilty he apologizes, “I am terribly sorry Mr… Mr…

Ares.

Mr. Ares! I am terribly sorry! I am just quite fond of bees you see and you look as if you are one. Ahem. May I ask what you think of such creatures?” He regains his composure to change the subject.

Ares tilts his head back and forth, “Hmm. Hmm. Bees. Yes. They are tasty, fun to chase. You seem kind though. So I will spare your bees.

I… uh, thanks?” Such an odd Fae to speak as if the bees were theirs. At least they ensured they would stay away from his bees!

Joyously Adrumedal skipped around the plains that the Traveling Breeze stopped to rest at. As he wandered he saw a beautiful array of purple flowers. He should give them to Cassiopeia, he thinks as he starts to reach down for them, though someone shouts at him in the distance.

DON’T TOUCH THOSE FLOWERS!!!” In a blink of an eye a Coatl grabs his arm away from the purple flowers and lets go when they notice Adrumedal was no longer trying to reach for them. “That was a close call. You should be careful Adrumedal, those flowers are deceiving!” It was Saron, the Traveling Breeze’s perfumer!

Is something wrong with these flowers? I wanted to give them to Cassiopeia…” He pouts a bit at not being able to pick the flowers.

Saron smooths out his feathers as he lectures him, “These flowers are highly dangerous as their tiny thorns carry the most potent poison. Grabbing them the wrong way could knock you out for months! I would know, I had to work with them once and it did NOT go well!

Well, is there a flower that looks similar that is safer? I would love to bring a souvenir back for her!

Of course there is! I may be no florist but I have used and seen MANY flowers that could be perfect for her. You just need to describe her for me and-

Adrumedal interrupts excitingly, “Really? Perfect! So she…” he starts to ramble about her and Saron had no choice but to listen for hours as he tried to find the right flower for Cassiopeia. Once Saron found the right flower he sighed, another job done, as Adrumedal skipped around with them in his hands excited to take them back home.
