The only ones who fear Ithaca are the ones who fear themselves.

She doesn't call herself a dragon. She calls herself a vessel for truth, and in some capacity, she's right. Ithaca reads the stars as though they are the pages of a book that only she knows, and when someone needs an answer, she is the one who gives it. She spends hours on mountain-tops watching the sky change, seeing mysteries illuminated by the vestiges of a plane beyond her reach.

Ithaca is the wisest member of the clan by far. She doesn't concern herself with politics, or occupations. When a member of the clan has a question they cannot bear any longer, they come to her, and they come away clear. She has been with Clan Forest Moon since the beginning, and no one- not even Calliope, the self-professed "chess master"- can challenge her on that.

Ithaca mentors Apocynthia in the way of the oracle, but only after dark, when no one is out to overhear them. In all her eccentricity, she has grown a genuine fondness for the girl. Despite this, she hides it, knowing that some in the clan would not take kindly to a second oracle. Ithaca knows she is powerful, and she knows that she has enough sway over people to potentially rule the clan herself. But she doesn't use it. She knows that her place is under a darkening sky, and she will not disrupt her peace with a bid at power. That kind of thing is for mortals.

Ithaca is above mortality. She is something infinite contained in a dragon's body. She is not unknowable, she is simply unknown, and she will not give her clarity to those who don't deserve it.
