Willow

When Willow and River hatched, it was at the exact same time. Both eggs cracking and moving in the exact same rhythm. But once out the egg, their differences started.
River started to cry for any caretaker to hear, while Willow was opneing her eyes, trying to make sense of the world the two just entered. And willows dark, gloomy fur contrasted Rivers bright, colourful coat.

Their differences didn't stop with aging either.

River became much more extroverted, starting to enjoy and stay around people. He started to learn and study music, art and dances, finding joy in the attention he gets.
Willow on the other hand remained reserved. She found interest in the books and stories, then the history and tales of the clan Sylphna itself. She quietly took on the role as archivist and scholar, writing down the tales, histories and occasions of the clan. Paradox was rather happy to take someone under their wing.

Both are absolute contrasts to eachother, but they are still very close, to no ones surprise.
Willow makes time for herself to watch her brothers performances, and River often check up of Willow to hear more of her research. Sometimes they even help eachother, Willow giving her brother the research of the latest songs and dances, and River making everyone aware that Willow will write down their tales in order to be never forgotten.

They are an unlikely duo, but together they seem to have done the clan good amounts of help.



It was evening again.

Willow finally finished a copy of the Clans history, proudly holding it to the lamplight as the ink still shimmered, not done drying. It took her, what? Three weeks to finally finish this? Obviously she could have used the newer inventions that are available, like printing or carving, but there was just something special about copying it all in her own handwriting, in this ink and on this paper that is created for magical preservation. Even if she leaves one day, wwhen the soil takes her back, this will remain of her, and people will read in her handwriting of this place she calls home.

She was exhausted. Tired. Hungry even. She had decided to pll an all nighter in order to finally finish this copy. She was warned by her brother it'd be harsh, but she was persistent. Sometimes you simply are too focused on your tasks.

Blowing on the page, she finally closed the book and set it aside, turning the lamp off and started to get ready for a well deserved rest... but... wait a moment.



River sighed as he put on the jewlery while backstage.

Today was a play he wrote. Well, he wrote and Willow adjusted. Alwyne (begrudgingly) agreed to make the outfits while Frolic and Alvina agreed to play some roles too. Magnet even agreed to use her powers for special effects!
This would be the clans very first theatre performance, allowing for even newcomers to come and see the creativity the clan will offer.

But... this is a great resposibility.
River made himself the first self acclaimed performer of Sylphina, and with that comes the responsbility to putting on a good show. And with that responsibility comes the anxiety of not screwing anything up whatsoever.

River was nervous as he finished his look. He already memorized every single word, step and song for the play, but that didn't make him any less nervous. He was starting to overthing it until Emperor poked her head in.

"Everyone's here now, dear."

With that, she quickly went to the seats and left River to start. He took several deep breaths before getting up, adjusting the costume before getting on stage.

The lights dimmed as he did, and that was Magnets clue to start moving the metal shards around. The hypnotic movements captivated even the eldest members. They dances in swirls, in waves, in pictures and shapes, and everyone was left in awe.
But River was scanning the crowd, in hopes to see someone.
The show Magnet puts on in the beginning is mainly a buffer, allowing for River to collect himself, but the anxiety was still there.

Until he saw Paradox and his sister Willow quietly take a seat in the back. He can see them chatting, mainly Paradox scolding Willow for that project she was working on, but they were there. He could clearly see she was exhausted, but still bothered to come along.

The magnetic dust finally moved on and landed behind River and the spotlight shined on him. Opening his colorful wings, he finally bellowed out the greeting.

"Welcome to the show!"
