Renegade

DURING an expansion of Turnback Cave, an isolated cavern was discovered that held two creatures within: Distortion and Renegade. It's difficult to describe Renegade without referencing their twin, as the two Aether-like creatures act almost identically. One thing that does set the two apart is their physical description: whereas Distortion possesses no legs at all, Renegade has the typical six expected of an Aether. Neither have ever explained exactly how they came to be in their inescapable pit, nor have they mentioned how they survived down there without any food or water. The only thing they've made clear is that they were banished from another realm to live out the rest of their days in Turnback Cave. Now that they've been freed from what seemed to be their prison, their next move is anyone's guess.

Distortion and Renegade had only the company of one another in their underground exile, as they were newcomers to the realm of dragons and, for obvious reasons, couldn't exactly go out and find themselves a friend. Once released, neither of them seemed to show any desire for a companion. Seeking to welcome the two beings into the clan, the Far Council gifted the both of them with matching familiars. Renegade's nameless Time Devourer seems to have been changed by their presence, and spends its days sitting motionless by their side and emitting soft clicks in a rhythm that speeds up and slows down seemingly at random.
