Crux

Crux may look to Titan as if he is everything to her, but he is not everything to her in the same way as to her sister, Pith. Oh, she certainly lives for him, lives for his approval, the taste of his flesh, she lives to see him rule and fight. But she doesn't live for him alone.

Crux will battle alongside Titan in the way the parasite does; by biting one of the enemy and having what should be her fill as quickly as she can. If prevented by command or a dismal mood of her beloved Titan, then she flits in and out of the battle creating confusion and menace wherever possible. This act is never disapproved, very possibly because the more she does so, the angrier and more frustrated she becomes. Certainly her anger is of great amusement to Titan.

But she is never disloyal, and never disobedient. She is far more eager to do what Titan wants, no matter the cost or consequence, than is Pith. She is quicker, more intuitive of what he wants, more likely to already be doing what he wanted but hadn't yet said, than her sister seems able to.

The question of her loyalty has undoubtedly come to Titan's mind more than once, and he has tested her to great limits more than once. The results are always the same: She is blindly loyal to him, and gives all she is to all he desires.

In the back of her mind, however, she cannot help but wonder; is there more to this life, than what she has allowed herself to become?
