KATSUMI - THE SPELLKEEPER

He really does love Raven- he swears. Who couldn't? Shes sweet, beautiful, and caring, even to him. Their cozy cottage is colorful, and full of sparkling pendants, flinging light around the room. And it's in this cottage that many, many arguments are had. For some reason, She thinks that the black kingdom was in the right to slaughter so many from the white kingdom. Ughh. When Katsumi is out in public with raven, other dragons in conversations have been known to slowly and awkwardly back out as the argument progresses. How could she want to be on the same side as, even allied with that nasty, dramatic group of imperials??

Katsumi can't stand to see her cry though. And knowing he's the cause of her tears, well, it breaks his heart. He's currently talking to some of the other members of her coven in secret, hoping one of their concoctions will help him to manage his anger better.
He hopes he makes up for it at least a little bit by giving her shining gifts of crystal pendants...

Since Katsumi dwells in the same cottage as the witch Raven, he comes into contact with hundreds of books of spells. He's decided to make an attempt to organize them and keep track of them. He doesn't know how to use the spells, or much how they work, but he keeps a record of them anyway.

This book contains information about useful herbs and where to find them: information collected and documented by Raven, esteemed Black Witch
Forest Field Guide

Mycena Mushroom
A powerful hallucinogen, the mycena mushroom grows In earth, light, and ice territories. It tends to grow on rocky and craggy surfaces, using its moon-white color to blend in with the bleached stones. It is often used in spells used in therapy, as its hallucinogenic properties can sometimes trigger memories. Most often, it is used to aid ill dragons to gain back their appetite, as it is slightly addictive. A notable fact about the mycena mushroom is that the effects of the mushroom are delayed- it is dangerous for dragons to eat many at once, as its powers begin to take effect after an hour.

Dark Creeper
The dark creeper can be found in the starwood strand of arcane territories, or anywhere within shadow or nature territories. This odd plant only grows at night. It is mainly used for potions that make a dragon stealthier, as well as an energy booster- think caffeine. It is popular among dragons who have close friends or mates that are snappers.

Amaranth
Amaranth is commonly found in Earth, Lightning, and ice territories, relying on electric, dry air that is common in these territories to transpire in a more effective way. This is used in spells to aid in fertility and yeild nests with a greater amount of eggs, as it is highly nutritious and is known to yeild a higher amount of grain than any other known in Sorienth. It is often also used in non-spell recipes for breadmaking.

Jasmine
Jasmine, also known as "mistress of the night", is one of the most important herbs to have an extensive knowledge of due to its multiple beneficial traits in magiks. It is found in nature and water territories as it relies on water as its main energy source, which is common among hydrophytes. Jasmine is used as a fragrance, known as "moonlight of the grove." It is ground into a powerful oil that releases an aroma that is strong and lovely- even more so than the rose. It is used as an anti-depressant in dragons, as the smell promotes optimism and happiness. It is also used to calm anxious dragons, as it is a proven sedative. it can also enable deep breathing, which adds to its calming effects. Also, depending on the need, it can energize or relax a dragon: this is used to combat the effects of overdoses of potions containing dark creeper, as well as aiding snapper dragons/insomniatic dragons in sleep. This potion should be created in a sweet tea form. Beware too much Jasmine in potions, as it can be overpowering of other herbs, and cause horrible headaches. Jasmine should be used in small, measured quantities, just to be safe.

Wild Onion
Wild onions can be found in wind and arcane territories. They are an incredible anti-toxin are are used in potions that combat recent poisons. However, beware mistaking the wild onion for the turnip. Both are incredibly reliant on clean water sources for their nutritious value. Turnips, found in plague territories, soak up the toxins of the territory and are incredibly poisonous and toxic to eat, unless one is specifically cooking them, or the dragon eating them is from the plague territories. Wild onions, similarly, should not be grown on plagued soil, as they will acquire incredibly toxic traits. These onions can be used to make minor poisons.

Blood Acorn
Found in arcane, fire, and plague territories, the inside of the blood acorn is goey and liquid in nature. This can be crushed up and mixed into a paste along with the shell of the acorn to create a remedy for blood fever, as well as a healing cream for particularly bloody wounds

Pelagas Feathers
Pelagas feathers can be found in fire, light, lightning, and water territories. Mixed with jasmine, it makes an especially sweet, flavorful soothing tea. However, without jasmine pelagas feathers tea canbe quite bitter. However, it is still important to drink, as it increases probiotics in the dragon and improves health.

Chickweed
Chickweed can be found in earth, light, wind, and plague territories, due to its hardy nature. The oils from the chickweed's leaves can be harvested to create a soothing cream for dragons that have gotten into particularly itchy situations. It is best harvested fresh, not left to dry.
Herbal Plantain Broadleaf Plantain
