It was fun while it lasted, she thought to herself, watching from the shadows as chaos ruled the Hewn CIty. It was a place over in the Light Flight, where those from Shadow could easily blend in and never be caught. Arslan, her sakura owl, nudged her softly. Ah yes, they had to leave, lest any of her...sponsors spot her. She had no complaints of the work she was given, it was a dirty job, but she made treasure doing it; a must for any dragon. They slipped away quietly in the shadows, avoiding the path of any other potential dragons.

Expertly, she strode down the long steps into the tangled wood, where her navy scales would conceal her in the darkness. Rose though were her wings, they would only see but a shimmer of them before she was gone. She was an assassin after all, killing was and still is, her forte. She hoped that the Tangled Woods would give her solace from the Light, but most dragons were not killers nor were they aware of blood staining their claws. So she travelled.

One night during her stay in the Ashfall Waste, Arslan had awoken her to a commotion. They hunched, creeping lowly until they could spot the noise. It seemed to be a clan of dragons, not that difficult to guess from the number and interactions. However, what intrigued her were their actions.

There were dragons gathered in a circle, fangs and claws bared, as though they were ready to kill; however, that wasn't what caught her attention. The dragons around them did not care how much blood was spilled and some even cheered on the fight. At the end of the session, the duelists stood up and patted each other, laughing like it was nothing and enjoying the rest of their day.

"They aren't afraid of blood," she mumbled.

"I'd be surprised if they were." Lorelei jumped at the voice, but instincts took over and her tail lashed out to whip the stranger. She stumbled, as her tail was easily blocked and was soon pinned to the ground, by a coatl no less.

"You've got good moves," he said, "but too many openings. If you were in the Abiding Boneyard, the Serthis would have had you by your throat and dead within seconds." He grinned down at her. "Dinner is after training. Stop by when you have a chance. Our hunters have brought home some good game."

Lorelei had no idea what possessed her to follow, but she did and she has yet to regret. The Alpha had given her a home and the trainers taught her to curb her bloodlust into a more productive state.
