Fang grunted as he brought up today's haul. Lots of assorted fish, some crabs, and even an octopus! The aberration grinned smugly to himself as he wiped the sweat from their bare head. They closed their eyes as the sea winds blew through their mane, bringing some much needed relief from the heat of the sun upon the open ocean. The crew bustled around them, tending to the various jobs aboard the seafaring vessel. One of the raptorik crewmates swung down to the deck on a rope, landing beside the large net that contained the day's catch. Taking advantage of Fang's distraction, the freebooter Coulon toyed with some of the fish through the net.
"Well, time to take this below deck," Fang said to themselves, grunting as they hoisted the heavy net over their shoulder. Coulon squawked and flew away, feigning innocence as he returned to the rigging.
Arriving at the kitchen, Fang set down the net on one of the counters. They furrowed their brows, noting that the net seemed substantially lighter than before. They began turning the net, trying to identify what could possibly have happened, when the bandana-clad head noticed something.
"Oi, we've made a proper fish trail!" he exclaimed.
"What are you even talking about?" the bare head asked, eyes still trained on the net.
"Take a look for yourself!" the first head said, pointing at the suspicious trail of fish leading out of the kitchen and back up to the main deck.
"Wha- there must have been a hole in the net, but that's impossible..." the second head muttered, the furrow in their brow deepening.
Suddenly, the aberration felt a sharp nick at their ankles, causing them to flinch slightly. They looked down to see a... crab? Why did it have a knife...?
"WHO DID THIS?" the short-tempered, bandana-clad head bellowed as the tiny crustacean scuttled side-to-side, brandishing a miniature cutlass at the aberration. Fang scooped up the crab and stormed upstairs, tails lashing wildly behind them.
The hatch to the main deck flew open, revealing Coulon mid-bite into one of the raw fish that had fallen from the net. Fang's eyes narrowed, noting the distinct lack of a cutlass at the raptorik's side.
"Did you do this?" the bandana-clad head hissed, almost in a whisper, as they held out the crab. The freebooter shrunk back, realizing there was no escaping this time. The bare head sighed.
"We're not mad-"
"I'm mad!" the first head snapped.
"We're not mad," the bare head emphasized each word to his companion, "but could you explain what happened, Coulon?"
"Well y'see... I thought it would be funny to give one of these lil' guys a knife, so I didn't really think much of it. I prolly shoulda guessed it'd cut the net, but it was a right surprise to me! Surely these fish won't be missed!" he laugh-squawked, delighting in his little prank before realizing he was still in trouble with the chef. The second head sighed.
"At least it was relatively harmless. Nothing but a few minor cuts and some lost fish, so I suppose I'll let it be this time. But don't let it happen again!" they warned.
"And since you already seem to have feasted on some of your spoils, no dinner for you tonight!" the rougher first head barked.
