 "My children always come home…".
- Shadowbinder
The noxious scent of decay pervaded the air as I navigated the twisting tunnels that led to the heart of the Horde. The dim light, provided by the sickly glow of bioluminescent molds, revealed a cavern adorned with relics of morbidity and remnants of a decaying past. In the midst of the macabre surroundings, I encountered a mysterious representative, a mistress of the Shadowbinder, a shadowy figure blending seamlessly into the dark recesses of the Horde. The dragon's scales absorbed what little light there was, and her eyes gleamed with a subtle mischievousness that mirrored the capricious nature of her kin. "Step into the shadows," her voice, a soft murmur almost breathing a laugh, welcomed me. The cavern walls, etched by decay and remnants of a grim history, bore witness to an unexpected convergence of darkness and mischief. Shadows danced and twisted, assuming shapes that defied logic. In the dimness, fleeting figures seemed to mockingly dart away, inviting me to join their enigmatic game. "If this were my home," the mistress whispered, her voice weaving through the darkness like a seductive melody, "you would have melted into these deep corners with me." Delving into the abyss, every step I took felt guided by unseen hands. "Of course," the nocturne snickered, her eyes darting wildly, "this is but the place I realm in. I merely jest about your safety." Her laughter, full and dark, seemed to wind its way down my throat. “Thy Plaguebringer promises your safety and my own, that which I learn and covet until I return home to the Tangled Woods. I wish unto you that you heed that well, that even in your ichorous rot, there is darkness to be found in every facet.” I whip around my head to her, and just like that- She’s gone. |
