Biography

Dark Creeper sindri

"Do you think to trick me out of that which I am due?"
──────────✽──────────

Sindri and her partner, Aethelwine, are bargain-making fairies who possess an uncanny ability to guide others. They claim to be able to get any person to their destination, no matter how hopelessly lost they appear to be -- and it is true. There is a magic that lives in them which causes them to know where anything is, if it is part of a contract. In exchange, they bargain for something valuable to the summoner: usually gold, but anything will do. Sindri has a small collection of treasured memories she has taken from her summoners: the jewels of her hoard.

Sindri is the debt-collector. Most of her summoners do not cheat her, out of fear for what will happen, but some have tried. When they do, Sindri undergoes a horrifying transformation: from fairy to beast. Until a contract is completed, she always knows where a summoner is; she can track them relentlessly across the world, and she will not stop until she gets what she is owed. She finds these hunts to be great fun.

Sindri and Aethelwine were normal dragons, once, though their memories of that life are hazy now. All Sindri truly understands is that they died in the Tangled Wood and were brought back as something entirely different. True dragons can't be summoned by ritual; true dragons don't become beasts. She doesn't believe they are dragons at all any longer; they just look like them, imitate them, in order to better strike their deals.

Sindri's gender identity is always in flux, but it is always different from Aethelwine's. She thinks she remembers that the two of them were the same, once; now, they never are. Sindri finds it thrilling, the constant change, and it is proof that they are intrinsically tied together: now until forever.
