____The vast dry canyons of the shifting expanse shook at his feet while the heavens relentlessly roared. The thunder told him he was their child, but he turned them away. He knew that the engineers of the Expanse were not his family. The lightning struck the ground at his claws and told him he belonged at the Spire. The Spire was not his home.
Vander was a child of the thunder, but not a child of the Stormcatcher.
The Tundra trekked away from his home, not knowing who he was other than a vessel for the power that came from the heavens. Though he did not know how to use this power, he came to meet one who did. She was beautiful. An illustrated tome of knowledge in comparison to himself, a blank tablet. The two met with the same circumstances of being lost-- in a inner sense more than physical. Neptune seemed charmed by the Tundra, and the two said little despite having immediately become companions on their way out of the Shifting Expanse. They both hungered for enlightenment and would head to the Sunbeam ruins. On their way they met other dragons, and the natural leader part of Neptune took them under their wing. Vander followed alongside her and taught his philosophy and magic to their small, growing clan. Things changed as their family grew, they changed once they were accepted into the Ruins as acolytes of the Lightweaver. Both Vander and Neptune changed formes and became new dragons. They protected their clan and taught them their mysticism. Those who had the same spark in their eyes as he did were always the ones that stayed. Vander is a quiet patriarch. He cares deeply for his clanfamily and his soul is forever devoted to Neptune. They are two strands of electricity that intertwined in the storm and would never separate. (more to be written later.) |
