Forage shook the sweat from her face as she turned to face the remaining podid. The hazy heat of the Mire had proven to be too much for her newest students, and she found herself the last dragon left standing.
"Well, at least the worst it can do is shock me," she thought to herself.
Preparing to unleash all her strength, she darted past a crackling bolt into the air above the podid before tucking in her spindly limbs and deftly slamming into the foe.
"That did it," the Fae squeaked in brief triumph. The podid collapsed, and the static in the air dissipated. Sighing, she moved to aid her students. A sharp poke in the ribs was enough to bring both of the Pearlcatchers back to consciousness.
"What did I tell you two about drinking enough water before heading into the field?"
The slightly younger dragon gave her an apologetic grin, while his sister sulked.
"Very well, we will take a short break. You must stay hydrated!"
Forage continued as they returned to their camp, thinking to raise the spirits of her pupils, "Oh I know it is just sweltering out here, but if you work hard and pass my classes, I can promise you that life at the Arcanist's Observatory is positively wonderful. Not to mention, completely air conditioned!"
